Made in BC PV Installation on Burnaby Residence

The new photovoltaic system, the first residential grid-tied photovoltaic system in Burnaby - Featured in the Georgia Straight recently. VREC consulted on the system design, permitting and net metering process for this system, performed electrical installation and supplied a portion of the equipment. As part of minimizing greenhouse gas impact due to transportation, VREC prefers to specify local materials wherever possible. The panels, inverter and panel racking for this system were all manufactured in British Columbia.

Vancouver's First Residential Grid-Tie Photovoltaic Home

Now that BC Hydro has made it legal and possible to tie renewable electricity production to the electrical grid, we want to be the first to make it happen on a residential building in Vancouver. We're still looking for funding for this one, so if you want to fund an installation on your home or someone else's, let us know.  We have secured for our customers financing at prime plus one for projects under $10,000. We also have become Vancouver distributor for Energy Alternatives, which allows us to offer good pricing on renewable energy equipment. So if you've got an unshaded roof that gets sun from the south and would like to purchase a photovoltaic system, give us a call at 778.869.8333.
