Rob is president of EpiLogic Consulting,
an IT consulting firm with clients across North America. He has a MBA from
University of Western Ontario. Prior to co-founding VREC he spent time studying the
Next Generation
Energy Coop, a renewable energy cooperative in Bellingham, WA. He has been
active in many environmental campaigns and served on the board of directors
of an environmental organization working to improve water quality. He has He can be

Board Member
Sophia is cofounder
of VREC. She
completed coursework in solar photovoltaic system design at BCIT and
was on the Board of Directors of the
Waterfront
Consumers Cooperative for several years.
A
socially responsible eco-entrepreneur for many years, she began her
entrepreneurial career in 1990 as owner of Environmentally
Friendly, one of the first ecologically responsible janitorial companies in
Vancouver. She developed and taught
environmental education
programming to school
children all over BC while working for the Association for the Promotion
and Advancement of Science Education. In addition to her work with
VREC she is the owner of
Technology Tailoring, an management
consulting and information
technology company helping non-profit and business clients do
good things better.
A co-founder of a number of successful grassroots groups, she is a strong
believer in the value and power of grassroots action and community
development and is a devout environmentalist. She can be reached at

Technical Design and Installation
Darren is an Electrician and Environmental Technician,
currently on leave from VREC in order to complete his Master of Science in
Renewable Energy from
Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Prior to becoming
involved with VREC he was in the Philippines with
Solar Energy International managing solar projects and providing
training in renewable energy for groups such as the Bais City Engineering
Department and the U.S. Peace Corps. He has a Diploma of
Environmental Planning Technology from
Selkirk College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Trinity Western University.

Volunteer Coordination and Installation
Charles is VREC's
Volunteer Coordinator. He is presently a student at
Langara College in Environmental
Studies program and is also employed at
Green Peace . He has a strong
interest in environmental issues and volunteers for many organizations. After participation as a US Delegate at the
IV international
convention on sustainable development (Havana, Cuba 2003), his focus turned
to renewable energy. In Cuba he had the chance to meet with representatives
of CubaSolar, a renewable energy NGO. The amount of work they were able to
do with so little resources, inspired him to make change happen back here in
Canada. He is also the fundraising chair for a
local nonprofit bookstore. He

Installation
- Board Member
Chris is an education and communications consultant, and a solar energy
advocate. His media work has an emphasis on civic education. Drawing on a
multidisciplinary background which includes custom homebuilding and digital
media instruction, Chris's sustainable energy goals are to make solar
technology, and other appropriate energy systems, simple to understand and
easy to implement. He has a Cooperative Education, BFA degree from Simon
Fraser University.
His media work includes the
Vancouver City Planning
Commission's Alternative Housing Futures media site as well as his work

Arthur is an electrical engineer and is part of the technical
design team at VREC. He has expertise and experience in photovoltaic and
wind systems.
